Privacy Notice

Last updated: June 30, 2026

This Privacy Notice explains how Alexandre Prado ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use Run The Nest (the "Service"). We act as the data controller for the personal data described below.

1. Data we collect

  • Account data: email, password hash, display name, language preference.
  • Family data you submit: family member profiles, birthdays, phone numbers, calendar events, chores, meals, budget entries, notes, grocery items, and avatars.
  • Communications: messages exchanged with the in-app and WhatsApp AI assistants, and support emails.
  • Usage & device data: log data, IP address, browser/OS, basic telemetry needed to operate and secure the Service.
  • Billing data: handled by our payment processor Paddle (see Sharing below). We store only subscription status, plan, and customer/subscription identifiers — not full card details.

2. How we use data

  • To create and maintain your account and family workspace;
  • To provide the calendar, chores, meals, budget, and AI assistant features;
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions (via Paddle);
  • To secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse;
  • To provide customer support;
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)

  • Contract: providing the Service you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests: securing the Service, preventing fraud, product improvement.
  • Consent: optional features such as marketing emails (where applicable).
  • Legal obligation: tax, accounting, responding to lawful requests.

4. Sharing & subprocessors

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Paddle.com Market Limited — our Merchant of Record for the sale of subscriptions, payment processing, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds.
  • Cloud infrastructure & database hosting — to host the application, database, authentication, and file storage.
  • AI model providers — to generate AI assistant responses (messages you send to the assistant are sent to the model provider to produce a reply).
  • Twilio — to deliver and receive WhatsApp messages when you use the WhatsApp assistant.
  • Professional advisers and authorities — where required by law.

5. International transfers

Some of our subprocessors are located outside the EEA/UK. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

6. Data retention

We keep account and family data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to support backups, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. AI message history is retained to give the assistants memory; you may delete it from the app. Billing records are kept as long as required by tax and accounting law.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can also withdraw consent and lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. Contact us to exercise these rights; we will respond within the time required by law (generally one month).

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit, row-level security on our database, access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong unique password.

9. Children

Run The Nest is intended for use by adults to coordinate their household. Profiles of children may be added by a parent or guardian managing the family workspace.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in and to remember your language preference. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

11. Changes

We may update this Notice. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email.
